The common term for individuals who purposefully seek out danger, excitement, and wealth in the forgotten or unexplored parts of the world. Usually fairly young people, they can come from every race and culture, and often arm themselves with special skilks, such as expertise with fighting, sneaking, magic, or the favor of a god.

Adventurers roam the wilderness usually in groups called "parties", seeking to explore and plunder the secrets of ancient temples, crumbled castles, or monster's lairs. It is a dangerous "occupation," as many don't come back, but those who do succeed gain great power, treasure, fame, and influence , often becoming rulers or the subjects of story and song. Sometimes they become heroes, saving the world.
