= Centaur =
Semi-nomadic human-horse hybrid fey creatures native to the cold northern plains of [[Itrefaulk]], where they have a loose nation called the Confederated Tribes. There are five tribes: the [[Two Knives]], the [[Long Eagles]], the [[Black Water]], the [[Red Manes]], and the [[Sky Runners]]. The total population of Centaurs is about 20,000, and they fiercely maintain their independence from the nations of the rest of the island.

They have no permanent settlements. For most of the year they roam the plains, sleeping under quickly constructed hide tents, living mainly by hunting and gathering, but also by trading their crafts, including hide armor, weapons, artworks, and musical instruments, including their famous pan flutes. In the coldest parts of winter they settle into circular towns built of hide and wood long houses, never built in the same place twice.

It is in this period that marriages are made between tribes, and families started. It also when tribal elders ( a male and female from each tribe) have their councils, discussing the affairs of the Tribes, including external relations and trade, as well as settling any disputes. Finally, during this time large ceremonies are held to honor the gods, principally for them [[Matemator]] and [[Raketra]].
