= Desert of Usk =
Blocked by the [[mountains_of_sajin|Mountains of Sajin]] from receiving much rainfall or wind, Usk is a dry, hot, sandy red desert settled and mined by the dwarves of [[ufrealor]]. It terminates in the south in beaches dotted with granite spires, among which live [[galeb_duhr]]. They have fought the dwarves over territory in the past, but today have a peace treaty. The dwarves let them be and do not mine in their area, and the galeb duhr pass along to the dwarves any particularly valuable gems or metals they find.

The only non-dwarf, non-galeb duhr settlement of the desert is [[Multacket]].

Somewhere in the [[galeb_duhr]] area is believed to be a portal to the [[:plane_of_elemental_earth]].
