An immense forest stretching more than a thousand miles north to south, and the sovereign domain of the Elves. All kinds of trees, plants and forest creatures, magical and non, can be found within its seemingly endless expanse. It is an area with a powerful magical aura, as befits its powerfully magical inhabitants. There are two principal cities (and thousands of small towns, villages and other settlements): Qualsyr in the north, the Silver City, domain of the High Elves, and Thelshir, City of Wood, in the south, the center of Wood Elf culture. The Wood is also home to some Humans, many Half-Elves, and most of Alech’nor’s Forest Gnomes. Somewhere in the Wood is said to lie The Dark Gate, one of Alech’nor’s entry points into the Underdark and particularly Velech Zar, the kingdom of the Drow.
