In early 2023, Greel's success in dealings earned him a seat on Chumash's Council of Merchant Lords, where he contested with Kumash Poc for control of the Council. However, in the middle of that year he was found dead in a sub-basement of the Hall of Lords, slain by unknown assassins.
He was in his 40s, of medium build, with tan skin, dark eyes, slicked-back black hair, handsome features, and a graying beard and mustache. He favored dark, expensive clothing and walked with a cane he did not need.
