Originally an orphan beggar in the Free City of Greyhawk[1] on Oerth, Gord eventually became a notorious thief, who one day had to flee for his life with the law finally on his heels. He stowed away on a ship which just happened to be a Spelljammer. Greatly surprised when it suddenly flew into space, Gord was discovered, beaten, and enslaved by the orc traders who vessel it was. He almost died several times, but eventually escaped when the ship was paying a visit to Dref Dral.
Years as a beggar and thief followed, until Gord was again captured. This time, he was given the opportunity to put his skills to use as a spy for the city guard on his former criminal associates. He did well, and eventually worked his way into normal city government, becoming Director.
