Culturally, medieval Ireland[1] with a touch of 17th century America[2]. This warm, green land of hills and palms, with a couple million inhabitants, is not technically a kingdom, as it is ruled by the Congress of Wise Olds, a collection of senior and important people from all walks of Wanwickian society; the leader of the Congress, whose powers are a little less than those of a king, is called the “Chief.” Wanwickian culture values equality and liberty, and while nobles exist, their power and prestige is much reduced from former centuries. While Wanwick is not really a democracy, the Congress at least listens to the will of the people. Shepherding, fruit farming and brewing are the most common occupations in Wanwick. The capital city and seat of the Chief of Wanwick is Wem, on the southern coast.
