Devet

The god of murder, lies, and corruption manifests in various forms in the dreams and visions of mortal creatures: a thin, grinning, oddly colored man of the viewer’s race in an expensive-looking but cheap suit, with some features unusual for the race, such as wings, horns, or a tail, a floating dagger, egging the viewer on towards some evil deed, the sound of stabbing or the sound of glib lies, or a smiling, pleasant face whose surface is peeling away to reveal a horrid visage underneath.

The Prince of Lies is deceit, cheating, theft, fraud, bribery, political corruption, plots and schemes, propaganda, misinformation, and double speak, strict, unthinking adherence to rules and laws but also the bending and manipulation of them, premeditated murder, assassination, poison, spreading rumors, gossip, temptation, terrorism, fear, conspiracies, oppressive hierarchy, authoritarianism and tyranny, bureaucracy, nepotism, and bigotry. He blesses lairs, cheats, and manipulators, those who do evil and frame others, and those rule by plots and murder. He is worshiped by criminals, crooked officials, assassins, conspirators, and racists.

His priests are called Lying Ones, his clerics called The False, and his paladins Back Stabbers. His favored beer is cream ale. He lives on Baator in a domain called the House of Lies.
