Strait of Armahze
Called a strait, though it is actually a channel, about 200 miles wide. The name is a hold-over from a time when the islands of Itrefaulk and marbindor where much closer and were pushed apart by a geological calamity caused by wild magic.
Though the Strait is a very heavily used shipping lane, it is occupied by evil water elementals and sea hags, who sometimes attack ships. Ships must be well-armed or escorted.
