Marbindor

The second largest island on the Jesenreth, and just across the Strait of Armahze from Itrefaulk. Like its slightly larger cousin, Marbindor is bracketed by two mountain ranges with wide, fertile, river-drained plains in between them (many see the direct design of The Twelve Gods in this). The western range is called the Mountains of Mourning, and the eastern is called the Mountains of Gladness.

Between them, in the north, lies the Rennegar Plateau. The major river is the Illusarnae, and the plains are occupied by unconfederated cities and towns of many races, including the northernmost settlements of lizardfolk and kobolds. The population of the island is about 5 million. Notable locations of central Marbindor include the Mines of Godrum, Qruk, Varlask, Heunross, Jornitoft, and Shralnar. On the eastern plains near the sea lies Glensjust.

The major powers of Marbindor are the elven city state of Weshea on the Strait, the human city state of Dref Dral on the cliffs above the northern coast, and the dwarven strongholds of Thoiles, Gretell, and Greta in the east and south.
