Known as a fighting captain and expert with the cutlass, she was wounded in hand-to-hand combat during her ship's recent battle with pirates, and is recovering in a navy healing ward. The pirate captain she fought did not survive the battle.
Divorced, one son from a previous marriage, aged 16, who lives with and is apprenticed to his father, a tanner.
